Our support workers are paid a highly competitive salary so that we can recruit and retain the best staff. We provide our team members with high quality specialised training so that they have the knowledge and skills to carry out their duties skilfully and effectively.
Our team leaders work alongside of the support workers in delivering the care and support to the people who live within our services, however have additional responsibilities. These responsibilities include mentorship of support workers, oversite, and coordination of the home, and other tasks such as quality checks, debriefs and handovers. A minimum of one team leader is available at the home 24hours a day.
The 24 hours in a day is a long time when people do not have structure and routine. To help support we employ a meaningful day coordinator whose role is to primarily ensure that everyone has a meaningful and purposeful day. The function of this role is to develop community networks, make local links, develop awareness of likes, hobbies and interests so that each person has a schedule of activity that provides a structure to people’s time, and a framework for the support staff to work within.
We want to ensure that the priority of our support workers and team leaders is the delivery high quality care and support. We recognise that other essential household tasks can sometimes impact on the time and attention we give to people, therefore 7 days a week we employ a housekeeper. Our housekeepers do not remove our duty to support people to develop and utilise daily living skills such as keeping a clean and safe environment; however, they provide an additional layer of help to maintain a high standard that we should all expect.
The Registered Manger is the appointed accountable person, responsible in ensuing the values of the business is upheld, alongside ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance. Supported by a highly skilled, competent Deputy Manager the onsite leadership team work collaboratively with our internal partners, including our People Practice Lead and Operations Director.
